Weekly Roundup #4
There's not a whole lot I discovered this week, but there's been a few gems.
CeeLo Green and Danger Mouse, an earth-shattering level of talent right here and it shows. They have nailed down the art of making songs that stick. Great album from start to finish and one of the few artists whose songwriting I really respect. Tremendous stuff.
40 minutes or so of soulful, feel-good music. Extremely well produced. An album you'd put on when you just feel good in your skin. It always brings a smile to my face and I hope it does the same for you.
Has there ever been a better album for quiet, thoughtful rumination? I think not. Yes, it's technically just 40 minutes of the same thing on loop, but there is something beautiful about it to me. I've been revisiting this album for a while now and I get something new out of it every single time. Haunting and beautiful.
This is a very interesting album to me. I can't seem to figure it out, I don't KNOW whether I like it or dislike it..it's all so hazy and feverish. This record really does take you to a different and surreal place. This band is a trio and you can sort of tell after a few tracks, a lot of looping in this. It's just so puzzling I must recommend it. I will spin it a few more times.
